Online healthcare booking app BookDoc has set up an advisory group of healthcare leaders to advise the company on strategic areas related to contents, medical ethics, and regulatory matters.
The advisory group includes, M. Jegathesan, the former deputy director-general of health Malaysia, and the pro-chancellor of University Science Malaysia; Mohandas Ramasamy, the former director general of health, Armed Forces Health Services, and the deputy chairman of the Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences; Fawzia Dato' Abdullah, former senior director of Dental Health Division and the foundation dean, faculty of dentistry of SEGI University & College; ST Kew, dean of medicine at International Medical University; and Milton Lum, former president of Malaysian Medical Association, and a member of the Malaysian Medical Council.
Founded in July this year by Chevy Beh, managing director of BP Healthcare and Joel Neoh, founder of Groupon Malaysia and former CEO of Asia Pacific for Groupon, the Malaysian startup claims to have received the highest valuation for a technology startup in Asia during its more than US$1 million pre-seed funding in September.
At the moment BookDoc has five corporate clients and is hoping to expand into Singapore and Hong Kong by the end of the year.
